The research direction focuses on bioenergy and renewable resource utilization. Based on two microbial platforms, "Enterobacter aerogenes" and "Klebsiella", metabolic pathway design has been conducted for the biosynthesis of C4 platform chemicals (succinic acid, ethylene glycol, 1,3-propanediol, and 2,3-butanediol), C1 chemicals (acetyl-CoA derived chemicals, and ethanol), as well as CO2 fixation. |
Over 60 SCI-indexed papers have been published in top international journals such as *Renewable and Sustainable Energy Reviews*, *Food Chemistry*, *Biotechnology for Biofuels*, *Bioresource Technology*. The principal investigator holds an H-index of 26. Notable awards include the First Prize of the China Petroleum and Chemical Association Award for Science and Technology Progress (2006, 5th place), the Second Prize of the Shanxi Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award (2014, 3rd place, Natural Sciences category), and a Gold Medal at the International Invention Fair (2015, 6th place).
