Professor Runxia Li, doctoral supervisor, Leading Talent in Materials Science at Dongguan University of Technology (DGUT), and Associate Dean of the School of Materials Science and Engineering. She also serves as Director of the DGUT Women’s Committee and Vice Chair of the University Trade Union. Professor Li concurrently holds several academic and professional positions, including:

• Member of the Foundry Branch of the Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society

• Member of the Metallography and Microanalysis Branch of the Chinese Society for Stereology

• Member of the Light Alloy Materials Committee of the Chinese Nonferrous Metals Society

• Vice Chair of the Additive Manufacturing Branch of the Guangdong Mechanical Engineering Society

• Executive Director of the Guangdong Materials Research Society

Vice President of the Dongguan Women Scientists Alliance

She has been recognized as a “Thousand Talents” expert in the Liaoning Province Million Talents Project, a Category-II Distinguished Talent of Dongguan, a National Outstanding Young Talent in Foundry Engineering, and a recipient of the Liaoning Provincial Higher Education Innovative Talent Support Program, among other honors.

Academic Achievements

Professor Li has presided over four General Projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, two sub-projects of National Key Projects, two provincial key projects, and more than ten other scientific research projects. Committed to supporting regional industrial development through science and technology, she has led four technology commercialization projects and five university–industry collaboration projects.

Her scientific achievements—“High-Performance Cast Aluminum Alloys and Their Semi-Solid Die-Casting Technology and Applications”—have been applied in over ten enterprises, generating 3.3 billion RMB in additional sales and 260 million RMB in profits, significantly advancing technological breakthroughs and industrial upgrading in the die-casting industry. This work earned her one Guangdong Science and Technology Progress Award (Second Prize, 2022) and one Innovation Dongguan Science and Technology Progress Award (First Prize, 2022). She has also received the First Prize of the Invention & Entrepreneurship Achievement Award (2025), Third Prize in the Women’s Division of the Songshan Lake Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition (2020), and the Excellence Award in the 9th Golden Bo Award Global High-Level Talent Innovation Competition (2020).

Professor Li has published nearly 300 academic papers, including 230 SCI-indexed articles, and holds 40 granted national invention patents, with more than 10 successfully transferred for industrial application.
