Hongwei MA, Deputy Party Secretary and President of Dongguan University of Technology, is a Changjiang Scholar Distinguished Professor appointed by the Ministry of Education and one of the inaugural high-level think tank experts of the China Disaster Prevention Association. He currently serves as Executive Deputy Director of the Key Laboratory of Major Engineering Disasters and Control under the Ministry of Education, member of the Academic Committee of the Key Laboratory of Seismic Monitoring and Disaster Mitigation Technology under the China Earthquake Administration, member of the Teaching Steering Committee for Mechanics under the Ministry of Education, council member of the Chinese Society of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics, and Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of the Guangdong Non-Digging Association. He has presided over four National Natural Science Foundation projects, currently leads one key R&D program and one sub-project under the Ministry of Science and Technology, and oversees one Guangdong Provincial Key Laboratory project. His research portfolio includes five provincial/ministerial-level key projects, over ten general projects, and eight industry-sponsored projects. Since initiating his research career, he has authored two monographs, published over 150 papers, with more than 90 high-impact papers indexed in the three major databases, and holds over 20 authorized invention patents.
