The Master of Mechanical Engineering at Dongguan University of Technology (Program Code: 085500) is a full-time professional master’s degree program. Closely aligned with the key development tasks of strategic emerging industries and advanced manufacturing in Dongguan and the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area, the program is established against the background of the digital and intelligent transformation of manufacturing enterprises. It focuses on real engineering and technical problems faced by enterprises and is committed to cultivating interdisciplinary, innovative, and application-oriented high-level engineering and technical professionals capable of solving systematic and complex engineering problems.

The program aims to cultivate high-level mechanical engineering professionals with solid theoretical foundations, and outstanding practical and innovative abilities. Students are required to master modern technical methods for solving complex engineering problems, possess critical thinking, engineering ethics, interdisciplinary integration abilities, and be capable of independently undertaking technical or managerial work.

The program offers two distinctive training directions: Conventional Mechanical Engineering and Intelligent Manufacturing Technology, with more than ten specialized research topics precisely aligned with industrial frontiers. It adopts a full-time two-year educational system, the curriculum system covers core subjects such as modern sensing technology, mechanical vibration dynamics, neutron detection technology and applications, modern manufacturing technology, equipment condition monitoring, and fault diagnosis, while also incorporating cutting-edge digital technologies including deep learning, digital twins, and industrial big data.

The program has a strong and well-structured faculty team. School of Mechanical Engineering currently has 93 full-time faculty members, including one dual-appointed academician, 18 professors, and 24 associate professors. Among them, 96.8% hold doctoral degrees. The faculty team includes high-level talents such as experts receiving the State Council Special Allowance, provincial distinguished teachers, and Dongguan distinguished talents. An innovative teaching team has been formed, led by academic leaders, supported by outstanding young and middle-aged scholars, and jointly coordinated by both internal and external supervisors.

The faculty team has been deeply engaged in frontier fields such as structural health monitoring, intelligent robotics, and intelligent manufacturing system optimization. Upon completion of all training requirements and fulfillment of the degree conferral standards, students will be awarded a graduation certificate and a master’s degree, becoming outstanding mechanical engineering professionals capable of meeting the needs of the high-quality development of advanced manufacturing industries in the new era.
